I see with satisfaction that Brno/CZ has re-released the excellent Mod 611 semi-auto rifle, in .22 Mag (.22WMR):
This is a “take-down” rifle, meaning that it can be disassembled for storage or travel (the buttstock is separated from the action just by turning a screw with your thumb).
I had the opportunity to buy one of these beauties once, and didn’t, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since. When I picked it up at the gun store, it simply flew into my shoulder, and the sights were automatically aligned without any adjustment on my part. I have found over time that the “hogsback” stock design is a perfect fit for my shooting stance, especially offhand.
And I don’t have a decent varmint rifle in .22 Mag…
Maybe The Mrs. would consider buying this rifle for me as a birthday present… it’s only two weeks away, after all. It’s kinda ‘spensive, about $360, but I’ve been a good boy all year. Hell, I’ll even make it a combined birthday/Christmas present from the whole family.
And then I can buy a thousand rounds of .22 Mag ammo for National Ammo Day, as a present for myself.
