Many shooters are fascinated by “top break” revolvers (where the cylinder and barrel “break” from the frame and swivel downwards for reloading). Up until now, fans of this revolver type have had limited options, mostly confined to older S&W Models and Webleys. But new top-break guns have been extremely limited.
However, Beretta has started producing the “Laramie”, in the manly .45 Long Colt (aka. the .45 Colt or .45 LC), and also in .38 Special:
Unfortunately, you have to be a true lover of top-break revolvers, as it’s kinda spendy (Collectors has it for about $1,000 but I’ve seen it selling under that at gun shows).
Regardless, it’s a faithful reproduction of the older S&W “Russian types (without the extra finger loop on the trigger guard), and its appearance on the market is most welcome.
I bet the Cowboy Action guys are just going to eat it up.
