Here’s one which should make all gun owners chuckle with glee: an eeeeeevil-looking submachine gun which is nothing of the sort. This is the Auto-Ordnance version of the venerable Tommy-gun, featured at Collectors:
...except that it’s chambered in .22 LR, and can only fire in semi-auto mode (making it, for all intents and purposes, identical to a Ruger 10/22, Remington 597 or Marlin Mod 60).
Okay, maybe that eeeeevil high-capacity magazine would frighten the GFWs, because we all know that 50-round .22 magazines are the choice of gangbangers and drug lords everywhere.
I have to tell y’all this, though: if this were produced in a full-auto variant, I would seriously consider going through the hassle of getting a Class III license just so I could have one of them. A full-auto Tommy gun which shoots affordable .22 LR ammo at (say) 650rpm?
Be still, my beating heart.
