Dept. Of Righteous Shootings

Nothing makes me smile wider than a hippie getting a beating a twofer in Righteous Shootings:
Some would-be robbers picked the wrong shop owner to rob in Brooklyn on Monday night.
Even though he was unarmed, the shop owner, identified by neighbors as Youssouf Drame, 35, wrested a gun away from one of the men and fatally shot two of them. The police say that two other suspects — it’s unclear whether they entered the store — are at large.
The only bad part of this is that Our Hero was critically wounded in the fracas (a painful place to be wounded, let me tell you), but is expected to make it.
[pauses to let cheering and applause die down]
Best part of all?
The store owner is not expected to face any charges, the police said.
This would not be news in the United States, but this didn’t happen in the United States: it happened in NYFC, where Our Hero could just as easily have been arrested for unlawful discharge of a gun that didn’t belong to him, after dark, in the presence of strangers. (I don’t know if such a law exists in NYFC, but it wouldn’t surprise me.)
