Jessica Rabbit
January 31, 2004
11:03 PM CST
“I’m not bad—I’m just drawn that way.”
Is there a man alive who doesn’t lust after Jessica Rabbit?
Yeah, I know she’s a damn cartoon. But she’s still more real than most of these silicon-enhanced tarts we see onscreen nowadays.
Here’s a pic of Jessica before she married Roger (and uttered the immortal line: “I love you more than any woman ever loved a rabbit.”)
And not many people seem to know she auditioned for Sophia Loren’s part in The Boy and the Dolphin:
Here’s what she might look like, in the flesh…
Just don’t surprise the lady when she’s not expecting you....

Jean Simmons
January 30, 2004
11:03 PM CST
Jean Simmons starred in her first movie at age 16 (as Estella in David Lean’s wonderful Great Expectations). At that age, she looked something like this:
And when she matured, she became even more beautiful:
Yowzer.
Incidentally, film buffs think that Jean Simmons’s best movie would be the little-known Until They Sail (1957), with Paul Newman. (There’s some other astounding talent in the movie: Piper Laurie, Joan Fontaine and a 16-year-old Sandra Dee).

Vivian Leigh
January 24, 2004
11:05 PM CST
Was there ever a more arresting movie star than Vivien Leigh?
I don’t think so, and if someone writes to tell me differently, I don’t give a damn, quite frankly.

Stella Stevens (2)
January 23, 2004
11:05 PM CST
Yeah, I’ve featured Stella Stevens before, and now I’m going to feature her again.
So there.
I dunno about the straw though… that’s bound to cause an itch, in some awkward places. But what do I know? I’m not a farmer.

Pat Priest
January 17, 2004
11:02 PM CST
I never saw the Munsters TV show, so I had no idea who Pat Priest was.
The Mrs., who met the lady in question years ago when she still lived in Hollywood, says that Pat was even more beautiful in real life than she was in pictures.
Must have been some kind of beautiful.

Susan Hart
January 16, 2004
11:05 PM CST
I stumbled on this picture of 60s-era movie starlet Susan Hart somewhere. And no, I have no idea who she is. Like that’s important.
Yum yum.

Hedy Lamarr (1)
January 10, 2004
11:02 PM CST
More than a couple of people have wanted to know why I’ve never featured Hedy Lamarr in the Weekend Women, and I have no excuse.
Here’s a bonus:
Aaaargh. All that, and brains, too (link from Reader Mike S, with thanks).

Donna Reed
January 3, 2004
11:01 PM CST
Okay, so it was because I watched It’s A Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve, but every time I watch that sappy movie, I fall in love with Donna Reed all over again;
Not just a pretty face, either:
Just flat-out, beyond-words gorgeous.

Betty Grable
December 7, 2003

As it’s Pearl Harbor Day, what better woman to show for today’s Sunday Skin than Betty Grable?
Okay, and one for the legs fans:

Salma Hayek (1)
December 6, 2003
2:18 PM CST
As a rule, I’m not a huge fan of Hispanic women—I run more to the pale-skinned redheads with freckles, as long-time Readers know.
But Salma Hayek is just flat-out astonishing.
And for the b&w fans:
