Net Negative

Following on from all the lousy news I’ve been posting about Britain recently, I note this snippet with interest:
The number of people migrating from the UK has reached record levels, official Government figures show.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said long-term migration from the country reached 385,000 in the year to July 2006, the highest figure since current counting methods were introduced in 1991.
A number of long-term migrants who arrived in the UK in the same period was 574,000, slightly down on the previous year.
Here’s what that statistic doesn’t tell you (and I have nothing but gut feeling to base this on, but I bet I’m right):
Percentage of productive, worthwhile people who left the UK: 65% (ergo, 250,000 productive workers)
Percentage of useless, leech-like scum who entered the UK: 65% (ergo, 375,000 leeches)
Net loss to the UK: incalculable.
Two of my British friends have a difference of opinion about the UK’s future. One says it can be turned around; the other says it’s a lost cause.
The above stats make me feel that the latter friend, sadly, is more likely to be correct.
Watch as both the BNP (ugh) and UKIP (yay) become more of a political force in the UK over the next two years. You heard it here first.

Update: Reader Bill L. sent me this link, wherein Cal Thomas talks about Vanishing England.
The problem for Britain and the United States isn’t just the change in demographics. It is the reluctance of both countries to inculcate the beliefs, history and, yes, religious ideals, which made our nations so successful that others wanted to come and be a part of them. The difference between many of the current immigrants and those of the past is that the previous ones wanted to become fully American or fully British. The current ones, in too many cases, would destroy what makes our countries unique. And the “leaders” of Britain and America refuse to stop it.
Perhaps it’s time we made them stop it.
Add ”immigration” and ”English-only” to the ”guns and low taxes” litmus for conservative candidates, folks.
